c.1915 Cincinnatus parlor 12-fret in ladder-braced spruce over cherry, 1 3/4” nut, 2 1/4” string spacing, modern playability with fine vintage tone
112016A
The Cincinnatus model was distributed by Wurlitzer, but likely made by Lyon and Healy. Save a few light scuffs and bruises, the condition is down-right fantastic. The compensated bone saddle and new fretboard/frets is a fine compliment to the overall original condition of this guitar.
SPECS: parlor-size body, 12-fret neck, ladder-braced solid spruce, slotted headstock, original tuning machines with bone buttons, steel reinforced poplar neck with somewhat-beefy but soft “V” neck profile, new radius’d ebony fretboard with new frets, bound top and back, ebony bridge with bone saddle. Bone nut. Nut width: 1 3/4”, String Spacing: 2 1/4”, Scale length: 24”, Upper bout: 9”, Lower Bout: 12 1/2”, Body length: 18“, Widest body depth: 3 1/2”, Soundhole diameter: 3 1/2”, Overall length: 36 3/4” , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 1”, Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1”, Action: 1/8”, string gauge setup: 52-11s.
CONDITION: Prior top bracing “upgrades” are functional/strong, but not pretty (only visible with mirror). Finish is all original. Work included neckset, updated bracing and repairs to bridgeplate, bridge, fretboard, frets and setup.
SOUND: This 100 year old parlor guitar would be great for old time folk and fingerpicking with features and sound that would please the vintage parlor lover who enjoys a full neck profile. Tone is intimate with fine intonation. Great value for a pre-war vintage parlor.
