Shopbuilt Size 2, all-hog, X-braced 12-fret in clear finish, 1 3/4” nut, 2 5/16” string spacing, low action and robust tone

This guitar is a blend of a shopbuilt, Martin-inspired small body combined with a pre-war Oscar Schmidt neck from an old UAC brand parlor. The top enjoys a light touch and delivers a sweet growl without too much effort. Slightly deeper body helps out here. There’s not a lot of bling but it makes up for it in playability and tone.

SPECS: Martin size-2 body, 12-fret neck from pre-war OS parlor with original UAC headstock stencil, X-braced hog top, sides and back in worn lacquer finish, slotted headstock, period tuning machines, steel reinforced poplar neck with “C” profile, ebony fretboard with new frets, ebony bridge, bone pins, nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 3/4”, String Spacing: 2 5/16”, Scale length: 24 3/4”, Upper bout: 8 1/2“, Lower Bout: 12 1/8”, Body length: 18 1/8”, Widest body depth: 4 1/8”, Overall length: 37” , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 15/16”, Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1”, Action: 1/8”, string gauge setup: custom lights 52-11 gauge standard tuning.

CONDITION: All solid woods in great condition. Finish has scuffs, crazing, edge wear, capo residue, bumps and bruises to help play the part. Bracing was updated to accommodate modern custom light set string tension. Other work included neckset, new fretboard/frets, bridge and a nice low action setup.

SOUND: Nice bluesy tone that takes little effort to extract (heavy handed attacks need not apply). String spacing is a plus for fingerstyle players. Plays easy and intonation is really sweet.
