1976 Martin 0-16NY in x-braced spruce over mahogany, quintessential fingerstyle guitar in near mint condition

052814F

The 0-16NY model was devised by CF Martin during the "folk scare" of the 1960's with production ending in the early 1990's. The size, feel and tone of this model is the benchmark for many modern parlor guitars. Played mainly as a classical guitar with nylon strings, this is one of the finest examples of this model that I've seen. Ships in original Martin case.

SPECS: 0-size, body, 12-fret neck, x-braced spruce top over mahogany sides and back in natural lacquer, slotted headstock with original tuning machines, low oval neck profile, brazilian rosewood fretboard with modern frets, brazilian rosewood bridge, bone bridge pins, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 7/8", String Spacing: 2 5/16", Scale length: 24.9", Upper bout: 9 1/2", Lower Bout: 13 3/8", Body length: 18 3/4", Widest body depth: 4 1/16", Overall length: 38" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 7/8", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1", Action: 1/8", String gauge setup: 52-11s.

CONDITION: This guitar is in near mint condition with no cracks and very little wear, perhaps owing to having been played as a classical guitar for much if its life. I reglued the bridge from having lifted over time and setup the guitar for fingerstyle so it intonates perfectly and plays easy.

SOUND: The tone is rich, warm and melodic with a true Martin flavor. Nice sustain with above average projection.
