1960s Harmony 0-size 12-fret in solid ladder-braced birch with 1 3/4“ nut and 2 1/4” string spacing. Perfect candidate for a player that’s been wanting to venture into vintage small bodies without breaking the bank. This example offers nicely figured solid woods with a new rosewood fretboard, bridge, updated bracing and with all issues addressed. Nice bluesy tone and versatile enough for both fingerstyle and light strumming.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a thousand times, the old Harmony factory produced some mighty fine guitars that have survived the test of time. Early folk-era models, of which this is one, were particularly prone to being babied and not played terribly hard. Which makes sense given the fact that early folk guitar playing hippies did nothing terribly hard except protest social injustice. The full-figured “D” neck profile might not be the best fit for smaller hands but otherwise there are no impediments to making this your go-to porch, cookout or road trip vintage parlor.

CONDITION: Complete rebuild to modern standard for structure and playability including updated bracing, modern truss rod, new fretboard, frets, and bridge. Repurposed vintage neck from old Gene Autry parlor. Top finish wear around the edges. Bass-side shoulder crack repairs. Ghost image of prior fretboard extension and bridge. Chip in one tuning machine button. Please note that repurposed woods and vintage surfaces will have underlying swirls, scrapes, scratches, bumps and bruises.
SOUND: Bluesy tone and old birch guitar woods seem to go together. This example gets a bit sassy when digging in and yet seems to carry itself well when played bare fingerstyle. Nice sustain and easy to play. Link to video soundclip below.
