Shopbuilt 00-Deep Body, 12-fret in X-braced solid spruce over solid e.i. rosewood, 1 7/8” nut, 2 5/16” string spacing, deep-rich-resonant fingerstyle guitar
I set out to produce a mid-size fingerstyle guitar with a deep body for increased acoustic tone and projection. This guitar was assembled from my stock of aged spruce and rosewood with a new/old stock mahogany “V” neck that’s at least 60 years old added to the mix. The Martin 00-size body mold delivers classic proportions regardless of tone woods but this example ended being one of my best blends of old and new.
SPECS: 00-size body, 12-fret mahogany neck, X-braced spruce top, rosewood sides and back, faux tortoise pickguard, slotted headstock, Golden Age tuning machines, steel reinforced hog neck with strong “V” profile, bound soundhole, top and back, new radiusd rosewood fretboard with new frets and MOP markers, rosewood bridge, bone pins, bone nut and saddle.
