Vintage Regal 0-size, 14-fret hybrid in x-braced spruce over maple/sapele, ample string spacing, huge tone, great fingerstyle guitar

Another basketcase rescued from the trash heap. I really like the body proportions of the pre-war Regal guitars so I go out of my way to save what I can, when I can. In this case, I married the neck and rim of an old Regal with a Martin spruce top and three-piece maple/sapele back. The result is superb. The tone is full and lush for an 0-size body with sort of a "blonde on blonde" vibe for the overall guitar. Nothing off-the-shelf boring about this guitar in looks or tone.

SPECS: 0-size, body, 14-fret neck, X-braced spruce top over maple sides and maple/sapele back, slotted headstock with new Golden Age tuning machines, maple neck with full "D" neck profile, radius'd ebony fretboard with new frets, side dots at frets 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 and 14, rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 13/16", String Spacing: 2 3/8", Scale length: 25.5", Upper bout: 10", Lower Bout: 13 3/4", Body length: 17 3/4", Widest body depth: 3 1/2", Overall length: 38" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 1", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1 1/16" , Action: 1/8", string gauge setup: 52-11s

CONDITION: Solid, Crack-free survivor. Work performed included neckset and repairs to top/back, seams, bridge, bridgeplate, frets, touchups and setup.

SOUND: The body is 0-size but larger than most. The extra volume delivers a fine tone, which sounds more like mahogany than maple. String spacing + warm sound = bare-fingerstyle delight. Nice and loud with a flatpick or thumbpick too!
