Vintage all-maple Regal 0-size, 12-fret with x-braced top, ample string spacing, bright articulate voice

113014W

This poor old gal came to me as nothing more than a shell. Abandoned and homeless, I nursed her back to health and was rewarded 10-fold. An all-solid maple guitar is not common among purveyors of vintage instruments but this one has a unique character that puts a smile on my face. Fingerstyle or flatpicked, a real joy to play.

SPECS: 0-size, body, 12-fret neck, X-braced book-matched maple top over maple sides and back, slotted headstock with original geared machines, bound maple neck with "D" neck profile, original "ebonized" poplar fretboard/frets with stenciled dots, rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle, bound top and soundhole. Nut width: 1 13/16", String Spacing: 2 1/2"(WOW), Scale length: 24 3/4", Upper bout: 10", Lower Bout: 13 3/8", Body length: 18 3/4", Widest body depth: 3 3/4", Overall length: 38" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 7/8", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1" , Action: 1/8", string gauge setup: 52-11s

CONDITION: Booked-match maple top and back were added to the original maple rim with mahogany linings. Black lacquer finish was extended from the sides to include the back and neck. The result is a clean, worry-free guitar. Work performed included neckset and repairs to braces, seams, bridge, bridgeplate, frets, touchups and setup.

SOUND: The solid maple tonewoods exude brightness and clarity. Note articulation is far better than many small bodies I have in stock. On the flipside, this guitar is not warm, rich or dusty in any way. The string spacing at both the nut and saddle is huge on this guitar so fingerstyle players will appreciate the extra real estate. Another example that is sassy and loud with a flatpick or thumbpick.
