50 year old Old Kraftsman 000-size, 14 fret in solid spruce over mahogany, rosewood board/bridge, kluson tuners, excellent mid-size flat top

113014T

This a great Kay-made 000- that has more mojo than some guitars twice its age. Tone is huge. Look is classic. This crack free example has aged woods, original finish patina and just enough modern upgrades to make you forget that you're playing an old guitar. Good value for the money.

SPECS: 000-size, body, 14-fret neck, ladder-braced solid spruce top over mahogany sides and back, paddle headstock with original Kluson machines and new buttons, mahogany neck with "D" neck profile, radius'd rosewood fretboard with new frets, rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 3/4", String Spacing: 2 3/8", Scale length: 25 1/2", Upper bout: 10 3/4", Lower Bout: 15", Body length: 18 3/4", Widest body depth: 4 1/8", Overall length: 40 1/2" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 7/8", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1" , Action: 1/8", string gauge setup: 52-11s

CONDITION: Very clean guitar free of cracks and worries. New radius'd fretboard and frets make playing a breeze. A 1/2" steel reinforcing rod was installed in neck cavity. Fixed cedar truss cover. Nicely bound on both top and back along with Kay emblem pickguard and b/w/b double rings around soundhole. Good dose of tiny bumps and bruises to the nicely patina'd surface. Work performed included neckset and repairs to braces, seams, bridge, bridgeplate, frets, touchups and setup.

SOUND: Incredible strummer and flatpicker. Loud, resonant, vibrant. If you're inclined to play fingerstyle on this 14-fret neck, you will not be disappointed in the bare-fingerstyle tone.
