50 year old Harmony 00-size 12-fret in solid spruce over solid birch, 1 3/4” nut, 2 1/4” string spacing, quality build/tone that likes the fingerstyle player

Many of the original Harmony 00-size models were built as classical guitars, but classical guitars can be converted to steel string with great results. This I know. The aged spruce top and 12-fret configuration delivers a sweet sound when played bare fingerstyle and the 60’s folk vibe really shines through. Far out.

SPECS: 00-size body, 12-fret neck, fan-braced solid spruce over solid birch, slotted headstock with vintage tuning machines, steel reinforced poplar neck with “D” neck profile, rosewood fretboard with new frets, bound top, back and soundhole, rosewood bridge, bone pins, nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 3/4”, String Spacing: 2 1/4”, Scale length: 24.9”, Upper bout: 10 5/8”, Lower Bout: 14 3/4”, Body length: 18 3/4“, Widest body depth: 3 7/8”, Overall length: 38 1/2” , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 7/8”, Neck thickness at 5th fret: 7/8”, Action: 3/32”, string gauge setup: 52-11s.

CONDITION: Fretboard is nice and flat with no dead spots or buzzing. Chips on neck heal. Elsewhere shows finish scuffs and a bruise or two. Work included neckset, fretboard/frets, repairs to braces, bridge, frets, finish and setup.

SOUND: Tone is warm and rich with above average sustain and projection. String separation makes for easy playing (but not too friendly to thumbwrappers, though). One of the nicest fingerstyle guitars I’ve played for the money.
