50 year old Harmony 00-size, 12-fret in ladder-braced spruce over birch, 1 3/4” nut, generous 2 7/16” string spacing, big booming tone for a mid-size 12-fret

082116C

This high-waisted beauty is the little sister of the bad-ass Harmony “Sovereign”, which was the largest of the Chicago made bodies. All solid wood, super tight setup and amazing “bear-claw” markings on the aged spruce top make this a fine candidate for the 00-body lover. Did I mention the big, booming tone?

SPECS: 00-Size body, 12-fret neck, ladder-braced solid spruce over solid birch all around with bound top, stained top with black lacquer sides, back and neck, slotted headstock with vintage tuning machines, steel reinforced poplar neck with “C” profile, new rosewood fretboard and new frets, new rosewood bridge with bone nut, saddle and pins, 1 3/4” nut, 2 7/16” string spacing, 24 3/4” scale, 11 1/4” upper bout, 14 1/4” lower bout, 18 3/8” body, 38” overall length, 3 7/8” depth, 13/16” neck depth at the 1st fret, 13/16” neck depth at the 5th fret, action 1/8” Setup/braced for 52-11 D’addario custom light strings (EJ26).

CONDITION: Finish bumps and bruises all around, nice flat fretboard with no dead spots or buzzing, work included neckset, new fretboard/frets, steel neck reinforcement, attention to bridgeplate, bridge, seams, joints and finish touchups.

SOUND: This guitar has a fine, full voice across the register. I played around with the breakangle on the treble side of the bridge and really like the results. It’s bare fingerstyle-friendly but absolutely booms with a pick.
