Slope shouldered 000-size, 12-fret slothead in x-braced spruce over palo escrito rosewood, HUGE tone, great playability, wonderful guitar

052814E

This is the guitar that sits on the stand in the shop so I can play it in between gluings. It's an anonymous handbuilt guitar that came out perfect....in tone. Craftsmanship is not 100% but it's solid and playability is perfect. It's a hair smaller than a dred so the body is big enough to put out some noise. Melodic, sweet noise.

SPECS: 000-size, body, 12-fret neck, x-braced spruce top over palo escrito sides and back in natural lacquer, slotted headstock with Grover machines, round "D" neck profile, ebony fretboard with modern frets, rosewood bridge and ebony bridge pins, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 13/16", String Spacing: 2 1/2", Scale length: 25.4", Upper bout: 11 5/8", Lower Bout: 15 5/8", Body length: 20", Widest body depth: 4 3/4", Overall length: 40" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 3/4", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 7/8", Action: 1/8", String gauge setup: 56-13s

CONDITION: The guitar is solid, the detailed work is not. The maker read the right books and was still honing his/her craft in the finer points of luthery when this guitar was made. You'll find flaws in the pour filler, binding, soundhole ring, headstock volute, lacquer finish and some scrapes on the ebony fretboard from fret leveling. I replaced the bridge and overlayed the bridgeplate with maple, routed the saddle in the correct spot so it intonates perfectly and plays easy.

SOUND: Spruce/Rosewood body + 12-fret neck + deep body + medium strings + great setup = HUGE TONE/GREAT SUSTAIN. I play bare fingerstyle and this is fine fingerstyle guitar.

PRICE: $1199
