Vintage Regal 0-size, 12-fret in x-braced spruce over maple, fine parlor guitar in fit, feel and tone

052814C

This Regal made 0-size, 12-fret was made for Montgomery Wards back in the 1940's and retains the original retail store sticker. This particular model most resembles the Martin guitar body from this same period. Fold into these classic proportions, a solid spruce top with some bear claw framed by cream binding and soundhole ring you get a classy look for a vintage parlor guitar.

SPECS: 0-size, body, 12-fret neck, x-braced spruce top over maple sides and back in black lacquer, slotted headstock with original tuning machines, chunky soft "V" neck profile, ebonized maple fretboard with original frets, ebony bridge and ebony bridge pins, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 13/16", String Spacing: 2 3/8", Scale length: 24 3/8", Upper bout: 9 3/4", Lower Bout: 13 1/4", Body length: 19", Widest body depth: 4", Overall length: 38" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 1", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1 1/4", Action: 1/8", String gauge setup: 53-12s

CONDITION: Lots of finish wear from honest play, bumps bruises and scrapes but that's about all you'll find. This is real solid example. Work performed included neckset and repairs to braces, seams, bridge, bridgeplate, frets, touchups and setup.

SOUND: Ladder bracing was converted to x-bracing and resulting tone was a pleasent surprise. I like this guitar for bare-fungerstyle as well as flatpicking. The body size is slightly larger than the average 0-size body and that translates into a tad more projection as a result.
