Regal 0-size, 12-fret in original ladder-braced solid birch, slothead, classic blues guitar

Regal Co. of Chicago made many types of flat tops guitars under many different brands. Some were sold through department stores, some were sold through catalogs and others were distributed through music stores. This Regal made small body dates to WWII. The 0-size, 12-fret body is comfortable to play and the aged woods help bring out her bright sound. Great example in wonderful condition.

SPECS: 0-size, body, 12-fret neck, ladder-braced birch top over birch sides and back, slotted headstock with original tuning machines, chunky soft "V" neck profile, ebonized maple fretboard with original frets, ebony bridge and bridge pins, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 13/16", String Spacing: 2 3/8", Scale length: 24 3/8", Upper bout: 9 1/4", Lower Bout: 13", Body length: 18 1/4", Widest body depth: 3 3/4", Overall length: 37 1/4" , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 1", Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1 1/4" , Action: 1/8", string gauge setup: 52-11s

CONDITION: This crack-free example retains it's original embellishments, finish and tuning keys. Work performed included neckset and repairs to braces, seams, bridge, bridgeplate, frets, touchups and setup.

SOUND: Ladder braced birch has been praised has the bluesman's tonic. This example is super sassy and loud with a flatpick and/or thumbpick. Setup allows easy fretting for either fingerstyle or chording. Nice all-around example from the 1940's.
