Pre-war Supertones have all the features that modern players love: looks, tone and playability. This model is becoming more and more difficult to find, especially with the rope binding. A best seller among its pre-war counterparts in the shop, a great value for an American-made parlor guitar.

SPECS: 0-size body, 12-fret neck, ladder-braced birch top, sides and back in black lacquer finish, slotted headstock, period tuning machines, steel reinforced poplar neck with chunky “V” neck profile, radius’d rosewood fretboard with new frets and MOP markers, rosewood pyramid bridge, bone nut and saddle with ebony pins. Nut width: 1 3/4”, String Spacing: 2 1/4”, Scale length: 24”, Upper bout: 9 1/2”, Lower Bout: 13 1/4”, Body length: 18“, Widest body depth: 3 1/4”, Overall length: 36 1/2” , Neck thickness at 1st fret: 1”, Neck thickness at 5th fret: 1 1/16”, Action: 1/8”, string gauge setup: custom light 52-11s

CONDITION: Solid condition with updated bracing. Prior repairs visible from the inside. Scuffs to mottled finish here and there. Work included neckset with steel reinforcement, fresh bracing update, new fretboard/frets, bridge and repairs to seams, braces, bridgeplate, touchups and setup.

SOUND: This model seems to attract blues players but this guitar can take many styles of play with ease. It’s loud and punchy for its size and takes no prisoners when it comes to flatpicking.
